Dates:
04/02/23 to 04/27/23
On April 1st, 2023, we left Cozumel, Mexico by ferry heading to Playa Del Carmen where we then hopped on a bus to the Cancun International Airport for our late evening flight to Europe. Our flight was direct from Cancun to Lisbon, Portugal followed by a short flight into Rome, Italy on April 2nd. The next morning, April 3rd, we officially started our journey departing from Rome to the South East side of Italy known as the Puglia Region where we spent nearly a month exploring.
The Puglia Region of Italy has a different and more quiet feel about it from the other more touristic areas of Italy. We arrived in April in what is considered a shoulder season, and at times had some of the cities and sites to ourselves. While we noticed very few foreign travelers, there were many italian and european travelers instead. The weather was cooler than what we like (and was much colder and wetter than what is typical for this time of year), but we were still able to visit and enjoy many beautiful areas and sites. All in all, the Puglia Region of Italy was fabulous and is certainly an area we would like to return to in the future.
