As our Europe trip came to an end, our flight from Amsterdam back to the US took us through Reykjavik, Iceland. Instead of having a several hour layover, we chose to add a 7 day stopover instead (at no extra cost). This was a good way to experience a little bit Iceland. We had high hopes of having the opportunity to witness Northern Lights, but no such luck…the visibility needed for Northern Lights was not in our favor. Despite this and the windy, rainy, snowy, and overall very cold weather, our time in Reykjavik was still very beautiful and nice. We spent several of our days soaking in one of their outdoor thermal public pools, and in between breaks in the weather, we walked the sites of the city.
