Austria

After 3 weeks in Portugal, we flew directly to Vienna, Austria. We spent about a week in this beautiful city exploring the old town and much of the outskirts. Arriving in Austria felt different from any other country we’ve visited, in a good way. Things were simply put, very easy in Austria. They have frequent public transport to pretty much anywhere and everywhere. The baroque architecture is beautiful. The size and scale of the buildings is incredible. Some are ornate and opulent, while others are more simple. The streets and sidewalks are all extremely clean and safe. Everything is also extremely well marked and very well thought out making it a breeze to get around day or night. We took public transportation every day to specific areas within the city, but would also venture out on foot as the city itself is very walkable. Austria is definitely on the expensive side, but wow what a great place to spend some time. Austria has always been on our list to visit, and we thought we would like it. But, in the end we both liked it much more than we had anticipated. And, should the opportunity arise for a return visit, we would not even hesitate.
